As WW2 ended and American manufacturers prepared for the productivity onslaught that was sure to follow, General Motors released the “Advance-Design” truck line that served the company faithfully from 1947 to1954. Far superior to the pre-war trucks, Chevrolet became the best selling truck brand in the United States.
I found this fully restored 1952 Chevrolet 3100 half ton pickup in Chicago in2016 and fell in love the the quality of the restoration, the gorgeous colors(pics don't do this guy justice) and, certainly, the nostalgic nod to Sinclair gasoline. It was hard to find a kid alive in the 50’s and 60’s that didn’t LOVE the green Brontosaurus mascot that made Sinclair gasoline instantly recognizable. This beautiful body off restoration uses a later model Chevy 235cu inch straight six cylinder engine married to a fully rebuilt 3 speed (on the column) manual transmission for motivation and includes such enhancements as Clifford intake manifolds and a Holley 2 barrel carburetor. New chrome trim and other bright work along with new tinted glass in the split front and rear windows, great base and clear coat paint, and new interior make this a complete and beautiful driving experience that surely takes you back to a far simpler time. Enjoy the pics!
