I found this car in Utah several years ago after searching for a 1965 2+2 for over five years. My dad had one growing up and it was always my favorite car that he had. Most were rusted in all the traditional places (and in some untraditional places too) and I really wanted to find a solid 4 speed car. Most are equipped with the 389 cubic inch motor with a GM turbo hydramatic automatic transmission. Occasionally, I would come across a 421 but those too were automatic equipped. I stumbled across this car through a friend and it just blew me away; not just a 421 but the ultra rare 421 HO (High Output) motor with a 4 speed. This is a matching numbers car that took my breath away. The condition of both exterior, interior and underneath were simply flawless and the car ran perfectly. It was so highly optioned that I simply had to have it no matter the price and it remains today as the only car in my collection that is truly “not for sale”. Running across the true “Pontiac guys” at shows and around town are my favorites as they understand and appreciate its rarity and condition. People that only remember Pontiac from the 1990’s and early 2000’s couldn’t imagine just how special the Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors was in the 60’s and early 70’s.
Enjoy the pics!
